Musician — percussionist — cultural bridge-builder

The drum as a path.

Music as transmission.

Rhythm connects what words cannot.

In Haiti, the drum is passed from hand to hand — alive, never frozen in time. Its rhythm now crosses languages and borders, connecting what words leave unsaid.

Meet Ted

Three paths into my world

Music, the stage, and the drum open three different paths, all guided by the same intention: creating connection, awakening memory, and bringing life back into motion.

Artist

Ted Beaubrun is a Haitian musician, percussionist, singer, author and cultural storyteller based in Geneva. Since 2012, he has been building an artistic practice that brings Haitian musical heritage into dialogue with Afro-Caribbean and contemporary influences.

Through Ted Beaubrun & The Band, he creates music where percussion, voice and acoustic instruments meet in a space between tradition and modernity. His work turns around themes such as consciousness, memory, transmission and joy.

Alongside his concerts, he leads writing, workshop and cultural mediation projects that extend this artistic vision: making rhythm a universal language capable of connecting people and cultures.

You managed to create a wonderful atmosphere among the residents [...] This rhythm and Ted's singing were truly captivating — so much so that elderly residents, usually rather quiet, started dancing with the care staff.

BOOK

The Yanvalou of the Soul

A novel by Ted Beaubrun

Cover of The Yanvalou of the Soul by Ted Beaubrun

Through the journey of Emma Saint-Louis, The Yanvalou of the Soul explores memory, identity, and the part of ourselves that seeks to rediscover its own rhythm.

Between Geneva and Haiti, the novel turns yanvalou — dance, movement, and heritage — into a path of reconnection with oneself.

What if reconnecting with our roots could help us rediscover our own movement?

What if our next meeting began with a rhythm?
